Our History
St. Catherine of Siena and
the Church of the Transfiguration
Our journey together began during COVID, in March of 2020. We were unable to hold in person Mass, and neither parish was ready for live-stream. But Transfiguration had a YouTube account, and Fr. Mike Bausch from Transfiguration, and Fr. Rob Bourcy from St. Catherine began livestreaming Mass from Transfiguration for both churches. This temporary arrangement continued for months, and both parishes became acquainted with both priests. In June of 2021, when Fr. Mike Bausch entered senior priest status, Fr. Rob Bourcy, pastor of St. Catherine of Siena was named pastor of both churches.
At first, we just shared a pastor. But in the ensuing months and years, we began to share much more, becoming a wonderful faith community. We are two separate entities, with unique personalities, but we have a common mission. Our love for Christ, our concern for the poor, and our spirit of welcome are evident at both parishes.
Most of our staff supports both churches. We have joint Faith Formation programs, encouraging our families to grow in faith together. Any activity at either church is open to parishioners of both churches. We gather as one community for the Triduum in Holy Week, and special services like Advent Evening Prayer. Both parishes continue their individual Social Ministry efforts, but everyone is welcome to participate, giving our parishioners a wide selection of ways to serve.
We hope that you will find a faith home at our parishes. All are welcome here.
