Advent and Christmas

Dear Friends,

This sacred time of the new liturgical year we celebrate the season of Advent. Each of the four Sunday's of advent has a theme - Hope, Peace, Joy and Love.   These uplifting words exemplify Him who was born into the world for the salvation of all.  We hope you will be able to join us for our beautiful Advent and Christmas services. Please know you and your loved ones will be remembered in our prayer that your Advent will lead you to a blessed Christmas!

With faith and blessings,

Rev. Rob Bourcy

Pastor

FAITH BREAK

Our Faith Formation team, Karen Luke and Anne Gallagher, along with special guests, are launching a new weekly podcast to bring spiritual refreshment to your daily life. We are ministers, spouses, parents and friends trying to be disciples and make disciples in our families and parishes.

Take a break from your busy day and spend a few minutes with us each week noticing how God is at work in your real life.

Episodes will drop every Sunday, and the links  will be added as they become available.

CHRISTMAS GIVING OPPORTUNITIES

St. Catherine’s Christmas Gift & Food Appeal

Great news - all the gift registry wish list items have been purchased - THANK YOU!

We are looking for volunteers to sort & pack food donations after Mass, Thursday, December 11 in the Schnacky Community Center.  We will begin about 9:45am and should complete the process by 11:30am. These are pantry items that will be distributed to local families on Dec. 16th. Contact Sally (sjwhitbeck109@gmail.com), or Diane Kozakiewicz (diakoz52@hotmail.com), or Phyllis Hagen (pyhagen3@gmail.com if you would like to help.

We will also be taking donations of new/gently used toys & children’s books, adult & children’s clothing, boots, shoes, coats, hats, mittens, etc. bed/bath/kitchen linens. Kitchen items and new personal hygiene items are also desperately needed. We cannot accept home décor or fine china. Drop off for these items can be made before and after Masses the weekend of Dec 13/14 at the Community Center. Local families may choose items when they come for Christmas pick-up.

We will need volunteers to help sort these items on Sunday Dec 14 & Monday Dec 15th 9am-5pm. Contact Phyllis, Sally (sjwhitbeck109@gmail.com), or Diane Kozakiewicz (diakoz52@hotmail.com) if you can help or have questions.

The Christmas Food Appeal will be the same as Thanksgiving. Gift cards & donations need to be dropped off by Dec 14th.

As always, we and local families are deeply grateful for your continued support
